An idea we had for the props in our opening sequence  was a briefcase. the reason for this is that it creates a mystery as the viewer would have no idea of the contents of the briefcase and it also brings makes a story which gives us a name "the case". the fact the the colour of the briefcase is blue which creates the feeling of a thriller as it is the main colour used in thrillers. the colour also adds to the feeling of mystery that we want viewers to have when they watch our opening sequence , there is more mystery added to the opening sequence when the viewer sees that the character is fascinated with the briefcase and does not let it out of his sight.

this weekend we managed to get the recording done and we did not just stay in canary wharf we traveled all over London and manage to get some really good footage, we plan on beginning editing within the week
even though we had change the costumes the location did not seem to be up to the standards of an AS student so we are scheduled to re-record what we have done this weekend in canary wharf and where ever else we may end up, the main problem we had was that the location made it look more like a soap then an opening sequence

costume

this is the change of costumes from our original idea too our new one
due to poor costumes and unimaginative locations we decided to start again and this is teh screen play to our new idea

Screenplay for Opening Sequence

START OVER

my group and i have decided to recreate the opening sequence as we feel the result was not satisfying and we need to think more about the location and costumes we feel we need to do this in order to achieve the best grade possible. and the fact that the costumes were not up to scratch and the locations were not imaginative which makes it seem as if this was just a video we shot in our spare time.

costumes like these could cost us marks

the cast

this the third location used in our opening sequence where the main character has been brought to the police station for questioning which leads back to the scene we did in the drama studio which ha been made-over to look like a interrogation room.We were lucky enough to get some sounds of sirens passing whilst we were filming this (digetic sound) which adds to the effect that he is being brought to a police station. this gives the audience an idea of what sort of man the main character is as in the opening 2 minutes of the film he finds himself in trouble with th law

this is the second scene of the opening sequence which we shot at Wandsworth common, in the photos you can see the main character being followed by these two men who seem to look like normal people but are actually undercover police in the photos you can also see the two men capturing the main character. we chose to use the common as it has a train station and seems to be a peaceful place we thought that we would bring some high paced action to a slow moving quiet place the common was also used to show that the character has committed the crime a while ago and walks around as if he has not done a thing which explains the bright red shoes and t shirt

day 1

today was was able to begin the interrogation scene which is the first scene shown in our opening sequence. The scene shows the main character being questioned by two police officers and hesitates to answer questions as he believes he knows just how to get him self out of the situation he is in.we recorded this in the drama studio in our school as it allowed us to dim the lights giving a spot light effect creating the atmosphere of a interrogation room.Informing the audience of the whereabout of the main character

today i helped an A2 student with his coursework by starring in his short film
IM FAMOUS :)
my group and i have not been able to film for the past week due to a technical setback but we are back on track and due to film within the week and hopefully finish by next week so we can begin the editing

Thursday, 20 January 2011

today we started to film for our 2 minute opening scene of a film we only had a chance to do the filming in the drama studio which we used as a interrogation room this worked perfectly because the drama studio has spotlights which allows us to give the effect that that we are in an actual interrogation room , after watching back the clips we had recorded it seems the drama studio was a a good descicion

the first shot in the scene is a close up of th ebomb device there, the scene begins to progress and as it does it moves on to a crane shot Following this close up which seems to follow the action in the scene, the movement of the camera and the angles give the sense of suspense.

the fact they use a close up shot of the bomb to open the scene give the effect something tragic and action filled is about to take place, the use of the tracking shot only justifies this as it follow the assassin planting the bomb in the boot of the car.this leaves the audience wondering why he planted the bomb in the car and who he is attempting to kill
